Florence is no doubt one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It’s silhouette is dominated by a might Santa Maria dei Fiori cathedral with it’s remarkable dome, and it’s streets are full of picturesque cafeterias, luxurious boutiques and historical architecture everywhere you look.

Florence is also the center of knitwear fashion. Right next to Florence is situated a town called Prato, where they produce lots of cashmere and other valuable yarns for us Knitter Babes. Twice a year the knitwear fashion professionals are gathered here in Florence to see the new trends of knit fashion and yarns in Pitti Filati fair. In Polimoda fashion university, knitwear design is taught in co-operation with Missoni, and the head quarters of Gucci is located where other than Florence.

So no wonder I have chosen to let Florence, my home town, to inspire me in creating my new knitwear collection, Firenze Edition.

With Firenze Edition knitwear collection I have wanted to bring to your needles a piece of beautiful stylish Florence. I’m guiding you through my home town and bringing you to my favourite places here. You will get to know Italian culture a little bit and you will get tips on how you can bring it to your own home and closet.

Firenze Edition is full of stylish knitting inspiration and a nice way to enjoy a piece of Italian culture when you can’t travel. I wish you pleasant moment with knitting and this virtual Florence tour.

Firenze Edition's patterns are published in Knitter Babe's membership page (join here). They are also available in knit kits here.

I invite you to be inspired by Florence with me!

Lovingly,
Heidi
